The EPL-5800 range provides high quality true 1200 dpi printing on paper sizes up to A4. With a print speed of up to 10 pages per minute this printer is designed to offer sophisticated yet reliable local or small workgroup printing with a small footprint suitable for the desktop. The EPL-5800 features an EPSON controller running a fast 133Mhz VR4310 RISC Processor and supports PCL6, PCL5e and optional Adobe PostScript 3 page description languages.

A standard USB port, along with IEEE 1284 parallel interface, are provided as standard ensuring easy connection to either a PC or Apple Mac. Paper handling as standard includes a 150 sheet multi-purpose tray capable of printing on a variety of paper sizes and types as well as postcards and envelopes. The EPL-5800 can be further expanded with the option of an additional 500 Sheet paper cassette which increases the total paper capacity of the machine to 650 sheets.

The EPL-5800 comes complete with pre-installed consumables with a high capacity 6,000 page toner cartridge and a separate 20,000 page photoconductor drum. Both these items are extremely easy to replace and ensure that the printer is capable of providing a low cost of ownership.

Available with a network ready configuration, the Epson EPL-5800N with an in-built 10/100 Base Ethernet Network Print Server, can be easily configured and managed remotely using network management system tools such as Epson NetWebManager, Epson WebAssist, Epson WinAssist, Epson MacAssist, and Plug ins for Novell NDPS, HP WebJetAdmin and HP Openview.

The EPL-5800 range consists of three models:-

• EPL-5800 - 10ppm A4 printer, with 1 x 150 Sheet input cassette
• EPL-5800N - As EPL-5800 with 10/100 Base Network Print Server
• EPL-5800PS - As EPL-5800 with the addition of Adobe® PostScript®3™ and a total of 144MB RAM
